Patricia is a kind, passionate and thoughtful Movement Director based in the Tees Valley and London. Her movement style is a joyful celebration of the people she is working with. The result can be emotional, atmospheric with a deep lyricism to it, and can be joyfully energetic. She also makes work about the experience of being British and Latinx, and about our connection to the stories we love.

As a Movement Director she looks after the physical language or movement in theatre. This is unique to each production and the movement work is often collaborating with actors and directors on characterisation, the world of the work and coming together as an ensemble. This comes from a thoughtful and compassionate approach to movement being supportive of actors and creatives to realise the creative vision. Sometimes this also choreography if the production requires a jig, a rave or slapstick comedy.

Reviews

Youthquake (2019)

“It’s a hugely impressive piece of physical theatre too. Patricia Suarez’s movement direction again, wonderfully, finds the truth throughout. The cast, having opened their hearts, survived and found common cause, end by exuberantly celebrating newfound hope and freedom on the dance floor.” Everything Theatre

Hound of the Baskervilles (2019)

“Jeremy Bradfield’s sound and music design enhances the movement / physical theatre created by movement director Patricia Verity Suarez with the cast and director Jake Smith to build up a threatening atmosphere.” British Theatre Guide

Blood Wedding (2018)

"Movement (Patricia Suarez) is almost dance-like, with an expressiveness that enhances emotionality and dramatic impact." The Upcoming

“Within this abstract surrealism lies a mesmerising physical performance from Moon...a focused, well-choreographed display that commands attention.” Miro Magazine
